Working for a National Construction and Property Maintenance company based in the heart of Bristol, this role forms part of the management structure of a busy finance team. With ambitious growth plans and structured change scheduled over the coming months, a key position has been identified for an experienced Management Accountant to lead the accounts team, reporting into the Finance Director.
The role offers variety and career development as the duties and responsibilities will evolve alongside the business’ plans to grow.
You’ll be CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified and have experience of people management with a real drive for continuous improvement and the ongoing development of your team.
Other Responsibilities Include
- Preparing management accounts for multiple companies within the business
- Intercompany recharges of costs, balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow statements, monthly accruals and prepayments, consolidated accounts etc
- Reviewing and completing monthly VAT returns
- Preparing schedules for auditors and providing information for statutory accounts
- Controlling and accurately forecasting income and expenditure
- Balance sheet, P&L and Cost Accounting
- Managing and overseeing the professional development of the team
- Maintaining process documentation
- Overseeing the purchase ledger to ensure accuracy
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of leading a team within a fast paced and relatively high-volume accounts department
- CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualified
- Five years post-qualified experience
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and prior experience of working with any of the Sage software packages
- Adaptability – the constantly changing environment as the company grows means that new systems will be implemented
- Problem solving skills and a solution focussed mindset
- Any experience within the construction industry would be beneficial but is not essential
- Any experience of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) would be of interest but is not essential
