The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Group Head of Procurement to lead and deliver a high-impact, organisation-wide procurement strategy. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on driving value, consistency, and operational excellence across multiple locations.
You will play a key role in enhancing overall business performance through strategic sourcing, robust supplier partnerships, and effective cost management, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a cohesive procurement strategy aligned with long-term business objectives
- Lead category planning across a diverse range of spend areas including consumables, services, technology, utilities, and capital expenditure
- Provide procurement expertise to support capital and refurbishment projects
Procurement Operations
- Oversee end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation, purchasing, and contract negotiation
- Drive consistency, compliance, and best practice across all procurement activities
- Support project delivery by ensuring procurement timelines, budgets, and specifications are met
Cost & Financial Management
- Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities while maintaining quality standards
- Analyse spend data and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with finance and senior stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning
- Ensure pricing consistency and contract compliance across all locations
Supplier & Contract Management
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative supplier relationships
- Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and performance review frameworks
- Manage supply chain risk, ensuring ethical sourcing and regulatory compliance
- Implement robust supplier governance, including due diligence and performance management
- Drive continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement & Culture
- Partner with senior leaders and operational teams to align procurement with business needs
- Promote procurement best practice through effective communication and training
- Champion sustainability initiatives, reducing environmental impact through responsible sourcing
- Support the introduction of innovative and eco-conscious products and services
About You
- Proven experience in a senior procurement leadership role within a multi-site or complex environment
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering cost savings and value creation
- Skilled in supplier negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder engagement
- Data-driven with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
- Passionate about sustainability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
