Our client’s team are market-leaders in public sector facilities management. They provide professional services to a diverse portfolio of clients’ estates which enables them to manage the supply chains that maintain their estates.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager within the Estates and Technical Services Team, you’ll primarily carry out fieldwork to survey your clients’ estates. You’ll manage a program of surveys which will capture the condition of buildings, assets and of space utilisation.

Responsibilities include surveys on mechanical and electrical equipment, record-keeping of site visits, managing building plans, providing advice on asset renewal, attending project meetings, and updating systems for accurate client reports.

The role demands quick asset assessment without invasive inspections, identification of critical plant equipment, and occasional ad-hoc duties.

About you

You’ll have extensive experience in comprehensive asset surveys, building fabric studies, and space planning with demonstrable commitment to quality. Adept at accurately reporting M&E asset and building fabric conditions, your knowledge spans asset maintenance requirements and the broader built environment.

You’ll be proficient in mobile data capture and reporting tools as well as the ability to amend and redraw building plans.

Public Sector experience is essential for this role as is a full, clean driving license.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in building surveying or approved RICS accredited degree, or minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering plus experience of working in the field of Asset Collection/Validation & BF Surveying

Eligible for Enhanced DBS clearance, CTC and SC clearances.

Desirable

Member of a professional body in a relevant field e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, IWFM etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out condition surveys on Mechanical and Electrical equipment and Building Fabric in various types of government sector properties.
  • Maintain accurate records of all site visits including an accurate programme of surveys scheduled and attended.
  • Manage building plans / drawings and amend where necessary.
  • Capture assets and their attributes and condition
  • Provide input on advice to the client for asset renewal and replacement of building elements and systems.
  • Attend project meetings and participate in working groups or departmental meetings as required.
  • Ability to assess asset condition quickly and reasonably without intrusive or invasive inspections.
  • Identify all critical plant equipment necessary to ensure 100% running of the site(s).
  • Update systems with necessary data to provide accurate and concise reports to the client, focusing on asset and fabric condition.
